Refund and Returns Policy

Returns & Right of Withdrawal

If you wish to cancel your purchase, you must notify us within 14 days of receiving the product. From that date, you have another 14 days to return the item. Return shipping costs are covered by the customer, and you are responsible for any damages that occur during transport.

Some items (such as dining tables and benches) cannot be returned by normal postal service due to size. We can often assist with return transport, but all costs remain the buyer’s responsibility.

Custom-made & Made-to-Measure Products

Please note that the right of withdrawal does not apply to products made to your specific measurements, design, or other personal choices. These items are considered custom-made and therefore cannot be returned or refunded once production has started.


Warranty & Complaints

At Unika Design we create unique, handmade products – no two pieces are ever identical. Natural and handcrafted variations are part of what makes each piece special. The warranty therefore does not cover:

  • Natural variations in wood, epoxy, or metal (grain, knots, cracks, color differences, patina)

  • Minor scratches, bubbles in epoxy, welding marks, or structural variations

  • Damage caused by improper storage, humidity, heat, or direct sunlight

  • Features that were clearly shown in images provided before, during or after production

  • Damage caused by delayed or incorrect unpacking of the product

  • Technical or aesthetic adjustments made during production to improve the final result

  • The underside of our furniture

Delivery & Transport Damage

Upon delivery, always check the packaging. If there is visible damage, you must notify the driver immediately and take photos before opening the package. We cannot accept responsibility for transport damage unless it is documented at delivery.

Warranty Period

  • Consumers (private customers): 24 months

  • Business purchases (with VAT no./invoice to company): 6 months

  • Showroom and display models: sold as-is, no warranty

Remedy

If a claim is accepted, we will determine whether the product should be repaired, replaced, reproduced, discounted, or refunded. Returns must be made in original or secure packaging, and you must provide proof of shipping costs.


Production

  • Adjustments: Our specialists may make technical or aesthetic adjustments during production to ensure the best overall result.

  • Natural changes: Cracks or irregularities in wood may occur or expand during production. These are repaired using the best possible craftsmanship.

  • Delays: Rare, unforeseen events in production may cause delays. In such cases we will either complete your order or produce a new one under the same terms.

  • Order changes: Once your order is confirmed, changes are not always possible. If accepted, changes may incur a handling fee of DKK 995 plus any extra material/production costs. This also applies to transport changes (e.g. new address, storage or delivery date).

  • Measurements: Minor deviations in dimensions can occur, typically up to ±5% (often only in thickness).


Care & Responsibility

Maintenance is the customer’s responsibility. Solid wood and epoxy furniture must be placed correctly in relation to sun, heat and humidity.

  • Wood movement: Cracks or warping may appear depending on environment – this is considered natural patina and not a defect.

  • Table legs: Handmade metal legs may show weld marks, slight irregularities or small marks – this is not considered a fault unless it affects the overall impression.

  • Placement: Keep furniture away from direct sunlight, radiators or fireplaces. High heat can affect both wood and epoxy.
