Terms & Conditions – Unika Design ApS

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all purchases from Unika Design ApS (“Unika Design,” “we,” or “us”), VAT: DK44163578.
By placing an order, you accept these Terms.


1. Satisfaction Guarantee

We offer a unique satisfaction guarantee so you can order a dining table to your exact wishes – without risk.

✔️ You receive photos of the wood planks before production starts
✔️ If you do not approve them, you receive a full refund
✔️ Alternatively, we can source new planks if suitable

Approval deadline:
We will send photos or video by email and/or SMS. If no response is received within 24 hours, the planks will be considered approved and production will proceed. This ensures a smooth process without unnecessary delays. (Applies to dining tables, except Mosaic).


2. Delivery & Shipping

Delivery times are estimates provided once your order is confirmed. Final delivery is arranged directly with the transport company, who will contact you with a time slot.

  • Workshop adjustments (e.g., table legs): 2–3 weeks

  • Made-to-measure plank tables: 4–6 weeks

  • Made-to-measure epoxy tables: 12–16 weeks

Delivery is normally to curbside. Carrying inside or assembly may be available for smaller tables at extra cost. Customers must ensure delivery access (e.g., doors, staircases, driveways). Any additional costs for failed delivery, storage, or re-delivery are the customer’s responsibility.

International delivery: We ship worldwide. Customs duties, import VAT, and handling fees are the customer’s responsibility. Our system calculates VAT automatically, but you should verify the accuracy for your country.


3. Payment & Deposit

We accept Dankort, Visa, Mastercard, MobilePay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and ViaBill.

Bank transfer: Any bank fees are paid by the customer.
Deposit: Selected customers may pay 50% deposit. Deposits are non-refundable, as production begins immediately and cover material and labour costs. Remaining balance is due before shipping. If no payment/contact is received within 14 days after order completion, rights to the order lapse unless otherwise agreed.


4. Right of Withdrawal

  • Stock items: 14-day withdrawal right applies, as per the EU Consumer Rights Directive.

  • Custom-made items: Made-to-measure, personalised, or special design products (including showroom and custom orders) are excluded from the withdrawal right, in line with Article 16(c) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive.

  • Partial withdrawal: If returning part of an order, delivery costs are deducted from the refund – including if shipping was originally free.

Reservations are non-binding until confirmed by payment or written acceptance. Once confirmed, the same conditions apply as standard purchases.


5. Returns

If you exercise the withdrawal right, you have 14 days from notice to return the item. Return shipping is at your expense, and you are responsible for any damage in transit.
Large items (e.g., dining tables, benches) cannot be returned via normal post. We can often assist with return shipping, but costs are borne by the customer.


6. Warranty (Claims)

All private customers have a 24-month warranty under Danish and EU law. Business purchases (with VAT/CVR number) carry a 6-month warranty. Showroom and display models are sold “as seen” without warranty.

Please note: Our products are handcrafted and unique. The following are not considered defects and are not covered by warranty:

  • Natural variations in wood, epoxy, or metal (grain, knots, cracks, colour differences, patina)

  • Minor scratches, epoxy bubbles, weld marks, or structural variations

  • Issues caused by improper storage, humidity, heat, or sunlight

  • Features visible on photos sent before or during production

  • Technical/esthetic adjustments made during production to improve final result

  • The underside of furniture

Transport damage: You must inspect packaging upon delivery. If damaged, note it with the carrier and take photos before opening. Claims cannot be processed without such documentation.

Remedies: If your claim is valid, we will determine whether repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund is appropriate.


7. Care & Responsibility

Maintenance is the customer’s responsibility.

  • Solid wood and epoxy furniture must be placed away from direct sunlight, radiators, or fireplaces.

  • Wood may expand, contract, or develop cracks depending on environment.

  • Epoxy and wood may change colour over time (natural patina).

  • Handmade metal legs may include welding marks or slight irregularities – these are not defects unless they significantly affect overall appearance.

8. Production & Variations

  • Our craftsmen may adjust technical or aesthetic details during production if this improves the overall result.

  • Natural cracks or irregularities may appear and are repaired as deemed best by our experts.

  • Unforeseen workshop issues may cause delays. In such cases, we will either complete your order or produce a new one under the same terms.

  • Dimensional variations of up to ±5% may occur, typically in thickness.


9. Design & Software Disclaimer

2D/3D design tools and visualisations on our website are illustrative only. Colours, shapes, and proportions may differ from the final product. Errors in software or displayed prices are reserved.


10. Items Sent to Us

If you send items to be embedded (e.g., personal objects in epoxy), this is at your own risk. We cannot guarantee colour, placement, or transport of such items.


11. Competitions & Marketing

By entering our competitions, you accept our competition rules and privacy policy. Participants must be 18+ and resident in Denmark unless otherwise stated.

  • Winners are selected randomly or by stated rules and contacted directly.

  • By accepting a prize, winners consent to name disclosure on our website and social media.

  • Winners may be asked to participate in marketing photos/videos.

  • Prizes must be documented with photos/videos, which may be used for marketing.

We reserve the right to cancel competitions without awarding a prize.


12. Product Liability

We are liable under the Danish Product Liability Act. For business purchases, we disclaim liability for indirect losses (e.g., lost profits, operating losses, time lost).


13. Photos & Content

We greatly appreciate customer photos, comments, and feedback. By sending us images, you grant us the right to use them in marketing. All images we send remain property of Unika Design.


14. Force Majeure

Unika Design is not liable for delays or non-performance caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, fire, war, pandemics, strikes, lockouts, import restrictions, border closures, or transport disruptions.
